Since years the NAC in Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Spain relies on CELUM DAM as Digital Asset Management and brix:papilio as Web-to-print solution. Communication managers therefore produce all local print products in conformity with CI/CD. In addition, with the web portal solution brix:anura, they are seamlessly integrating the entire image galleries and document download areas into the various church websites.
Nonetheless, how does an internationally operating church manage the supposed quantum leap of connecting its entire decentralized system architecture with a number of isolated solutions to form a standardized, user-friendly media and information platform?
As a leading church minister, I am extremely grateful to be able to provide our ministers and functionaries the NAC Media Portal as an outstanding tool for their voluntary work.
In line with the best-of-breed approach, brix cross media has seamlessly linked the previous system architecture with its interfaces. Useful extensions broaden the existing functionalities.
Cross-media projects require that all partners involved are fully included within the processes. With many years of experience, brix cross media is a proven specialist in this area.
NAC Media Hub
The new NAC Media Hub, based on CELUM Digital Asset Management (DAM), serves as the center and back-end, connecting the complex system architecture to form a unified media and information platform.
NAC Media Portal
The NAC Media Portal, built by Dream Production with the Content Management System (CMS) Drupal, is used as front-end. It represents the main communication hub for the church management and the gateway for all ministers and functionaries across Europe.
NAC Web-to-print (W2P)
The creation of local communication material such as invitation flyers, posters, greeting cards and business cards is achieved by using the brix:papilio online publishing suite. The W2P system enables the responsibles in the individual church districts to produce a standardized, CI/CD-compliant set of print-material.
With brix:corvus as the NAC admin tool, the regional churches, church districts and congregations have a lightweight, workflow-based editorial system at their disposal. News with picture and video material from the NAC Media Hub are conveniently captured and published on local websites.
Convincing user experience
The NAC Media Portal offers the NAC community a completely new, impressive user experience, both on desktops and on mobile devices (Responsive Design).
Easy access to all content
Ministers and functionaries across Europe have an easy, central access to all relevant content in six languages (circulars, teaching material, images, videos, guidelines, catechism texts, etc.).
SSO with clever authorisation system
Each user only has access to applications and information relevant to his function. This is ensured by the single sign-on process (SSO) with a sophisticated authorization system.
The system also includes a number of new practical tools, such as a simple image upload with simultaneous metadata setting for external photographers, as well as a link-based data delivery function.
With the Media Hub and the Web-to-print System, as well as the NAC Media Portal, we have created a future-oriented platform that connects our community of faith across Europe and enormously simplifies the work in all participating District Apostle areas.
The NAC project managers will deliver the new teaching material to all Sunday School teachers via the NAC Media Portal. After optimising the data management, the focus will be on improving the handling of text content. In future, text changes (e.g. in the catechism) will only be recorded centrally in the NAC Media Portal and immediately updated or synchronised via web services on the various websites.
