CELUM Content 26.7: These Changes Affect You

The most significant change affects the interface itself: with Release 26.7, only the NOVA UI is available. The Advanced UI has been discontinued. Over the past several releases, CELUM has systematically added the remaining features that were missing from the NOVA UI compared to the Advanced UI – including downloading all assets within a collection and managing permissions directly in the NOVA UI.

For organizations still using the Advanced UI, this means the transition is no longer optional – it is now a requirement. If you need support adapting your permission concepts and workflows to the NOVA UI, we're happy to help.

Another key change is the introduction of centralized user management through CELUM UMC (User Management Center). Instead of managing users separately within individual CELUM applications, user administration is now consolidated in a single central location. This simplifies the management of users, roles, and permissions across your CELUM environment and provides a more consistent administrative experience.

Not every enhancement changes the system architecture – some simply make everyday work more efficient:

• Bulk Version Upload: The process for uploading multiple asset versions has been redesigned and significantly streamlined.
• Copy & Paste for Metadata: Copying metadata between assets is now a standard feature. Organizations that need to exclude specific metadata fields or apply more granular permission controls can extend this functionality with our Asset Metadata Copy extension.

Two additional capabilities become part of the standard CELUM platform with this release: AI-powered image analysis and auto-tagging can now be configured directly through the user interface. In addition, selected analytics and reporting features that previously required a separate solution are now available natively within the system.

Release 26.7 is a significant step forward for CELUM Content – structurally, functionally, and in terms of usability. That's exactly why migration should be approached with careful planning rather than rushed implementation. The retirement of the Advanced UI, the introduction of centralized user management, and the new built-in AI and analytics capabilities all have an impact on existing configurations and custom extensions.
