Review of the Swiss Software Festival 2025
by Eric Sommerhalder

A look back at the launch of a new industry event full of inspiration, innovation, and impressive personalities.
2025 was the year in which the Swiss tech and software scene opened a new chapter: the first Swiss Software Festival was an event that proved to be a promising platform for exchange, inspiration, and networking right from the start.
The premiere impressed with a strong line-up, good organization, and a great atmosphere. Between exciting specialist presentations, practical insights, and personal encounters, one thing became clear: Switzerland has a new home for digital thought leaders.
A bull's eye in terms of organization, diversity of topics, and community spirit
What immediately stood out was the impressive professionalism of the organization. Every session started on time, the festival was sold out, and the agenda was varied and relevant. A particularly positive aspect was the focus on women in tech, which was given its own track – an important sign of greater visibility and equality in the industry.
The topics ranged from software architecture and UX to cloud migration and, of course, artificial intelligence. Many of the discussions at the end focused on AI and its impact on our working world, processes, and responsibilities.
Personal highlights – inspiring, approachable, relevant
The opening session set a strong tone:
- Egle Bronzini (Roche) opened with an impressive keynote speech on the need to develop not only technologically but also personally in times of change.
- He was immediately followed by David Nüscheler (Adobe Fellow), a formative figure in Swiss software history – a real highlight to kick off the festival.
Highlights of the individual tracks included:
- Michael Degiampietro (brix), who explained how easy it is to seamlessly integrate media into any website, adding a personal touch to the festival.
- An exciting talk by Zeix AG on the importance of user experience – not only for end users, but also as a strategic issue in companies.
- And an honest, practical contribution from a cloud consultant who made it clear that cloud transformation requires more than technology – it requires clarity, planning, and a willingness to change within the company.

A successful start with potential
The Swiss Software Festival 2025 has established itself as a new, relevant fixture in the Swiss event calendar. The premiere was a complete success – strong in content, well organized, and met with a very positive response from participants.
It was more than a conference: it was an event with attitude, community spirit, and a clear promise that something is growing here that will enrich the Swiss software landscape in the long term.
We look forward to the next edition!
