Innosuisse Grant: Dynamic Process Bridge

ERP, CRM, document management, and other specialized systems – each system works on its own. The problems arise in between: where information is manually transferred and decisions are laboriously coordinated.

Together with the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), we have addressed this gap – and received the project grant from Innosuisse.

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency: It supports projects in which companies and universities jointly develop new solutions and validate them on real application cases. For the joint project «Dynamic Process Bridge – Reliable AI-enabled Process Orchestration for SMEs» by brix and FHNW, the grant primarily means one thing: What is created here is not designed in theory, but tested directly with pilot companies on real processes.

At the center is a question that concerns many companies: How can AI be meaningfully integrated into existing business processes without losing the traceability of decisions?

Initial approaches are provided by working with two pilot partners: Lastech, a laser manufacturing company for cutting-edge technology that is rethinking its production planning, and Drixel Transporte, a transport and moving company, for the seamless design of its invoice processing.

We show how the Dynamic Process Bridge works in practice, what tasks humans and AI take on, and what the two pilot projects look like on the project page. There you also have the opportunity to submit your own process as a potential pilot project.

Conclusion

The Innosuisse project grant is the starting point for an initiative that understands process integration and AI as a joint task of systems, processes, and people. For companies that still coordinate a lot manually today, this opens up the opportunity to participate early in a practical solution.
